On Friday, President Bush met with Pakistan’s President Pervez Musharaff. During the course of the meeting, Pervez accused the President of threatening to “bomb Pakistan back into the stone age” in 2001 if they didn’t cooperate in the Global War On Terror.
“What threat?” The President responded, “if by threat, you mean ‘bombing,’ fine–that’s a threat, but who said it?”
“You did,” Pervez replied, “5 years ago, to the very day of this meeting.”
“What meeting?” the President asked. “I’ve never seen this man in my life, and now he’s threatening to bomb me. Fine, we’ll bomb you, then. This is not a meeting.”
